Open Floor Movement Practice is an alive full-body dance enquiry, using expressive dance, catalysing soundscapes, guided movement, somatic explorations, and meditation. We build resources to support a more present and authentic life. How can we move and include it all- feelings, other people, thoughts, wild passions, limitations? Can we use movement to soften the tight spots in our tender hearts and stretch our capacity for relationship? We start small, end quiet. Find direction. Add fire. Push the limit. Embrace paradox.

There's an essential movement language we all speak, we call on universal elements that are inherent in any moving body. This is the common ground that all embodiment practices share, these 'core movement resources' when anchored in the body, empower us to be present for anything and everything: loving, losing, colliding, learning, creating, connecting, feeling. To be embodied is to come to our senses. To learn to stay with our experience whether it's 'good or bad' without judgement. And for this one precious life, this body is our home address, so why not dance to become fully alive? Make it a practice, make it a meditation, let dance be the medicine.

Open Floor Dance is a meaningful, expressive, liberating and transformative practice; it is a place for creative focus and loving attention. Dance is one of the best exercises you can do! As there are no steps to learn, the invitation is to dance your dance mindfully to what is happening within you and in relation to the space we share. We explore the wild hungers of being human - the physical, mental, emotional aspects of our selves as we dance-weave our need for solitude, connection and our greater sense of belonging. We are souls in motion, guided by spirit; no where to go - nothing to be - only dance artists in the moment.
